Jefferson Parish Jail Mugshots

Jefferson Parish jail mugshots come from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, one of the largest jails in Louisiana. Sheriff Joseph P. Lopinto III runs the facility through the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, or JPSO. The jail holds close to 1,200 inmates on any given day, most of them pre-trial detainees waiting for court. Booking photos, arrest details, and charge information are all public records under Louisiana law. The JPSO provides an online inmate search tool along with the statewide LAVNS system for looking up current inmates. Jefferson Parish sits just west of New Orleans and is one of the most populated parishes in the state, which means the jail processes a high number of bookings each year.

Jefferson Parish online inmate search tool for jail mugshots

The inmate search tool is free to use and does not require an account. It pulls booking data from the jail management system in real time, so results reflect the current jail population. Keep in mind that inmates can be released or transferred at any time, so the jail roster changes often. Each booking creates a new jail mugshot and arrest record. Booking photos and arrest details are kept on file.

The Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, or JPCC, is at 100 Dolhonde Street in Gretna. The jail phone number is 504-368-5360. Sue Ellen Monfra serves as the corrections administrator. The JPCC is owned by the Jefferson Parish Government but administered by the JPSO. It is primarily a pre-trial detainee facility, which means most people held there have not yet been convicted. The jail handles all bookings and jail mugshot processing for arrests made by JPSO deputies, local police departments, and other agencies operating in the parish. Inmates appear on the jail roster after booking.

Note: Jefferson Parish jail mugshots and booking records from the JPCC are public records available through the online inmate search or by direct request.

Video Visitation at Jefferson Parish Jail

Jefferson Parish uses video visitation for inmates at the JPCC. There is an offsite visitation center at 2211 Barataria Blvd, Suite 110, in Marrero. Hours are Monday through Sunday, 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 3 PM to 9 PM. Remote video visits are also available at various hours throughout the day.

Each inmate gets one free 20-minute visit per week at the visitation center. Remote visits cost $12.99 for 20 minutes. You need to schedule visits at least 48 hours ahead of time. This system replaced in-person contact visits at the jail. It is worth noting that visitation details can change, so check with the JPSO before planning a visit.

Requesting Jefferson Parish Jail Mugshots

You have the right to request jail mugshots and booking records from Jefferson Parish. La. R.S. 44:1 makes these public jail records. The custodian must respond to your mugshot request in a reasonable time. Start with the online inmate search tool for current inmates. For older arrest records or certified copies, contact the JPSO directly at 504-363-5500.

La. R.S. 44:3 does set some limits on what law enforcement can release. Jail records tied to ongoing investigations or juvenile cases may not be available. But standard booking data, including jail mugshots, charges, and arrest dates, is generally open to the public. La. R.S. 44:700 also supports the release of basic arrest information by law enforcement agencies in Louisiana. You do not need to state a reason for your jail records request.
